About Me
Timothy has a special gift for making people feel welcome. Although speaking can sometimes be difficult because of his speech disability, he never lets it stop him from making friends or sharing a smile. He enjoys playing football, and joining in activities that bring fellow children together like sweeping the school compound. Friendly and resilient, Timothy hopes to become a social worker, supporting children and families who need someone to stand beside them during difficult times.
About My Family
Timothy currently lives with his grandmother after his mother’s only source of income, a small chips stall, was lost during the recent demolition of informal street businesses. Overnight, the family’s livelihood disappeared, making it impossible for her to meet the children’s basic needs. His grandmother stepped in to care for Timothy while his mother remains with his younger half-siblings.
To provide for the family, Timothy’s grandmother walks from home to home selling groundnut paste, earning only enough to meet the most immediate needs. Keeping Timothy in school has become increasingly difficult, yet she continues to do everything within her means because she believes education can change his future and may, be the life of his entire family.
