Who we are

Building healthier,
more resilient communities

Katalyst Sustainable Development Alliance (KSDA) is a registered women-led community-focused NGO dedicated to the holistic development of vulnerable children, adolescents, and families across Uganda.

We combine child protection, education, livelihood skills, and comprehensive WASH interventions promoting health, dignity, and inclusion for children and adolescent girls.

Guided by a robust child safeguarding policy, we are committed to empowering children and youth to live healthy, educated, and productive lives.

“Join us in transforming lives. Support a child, empower a young mother, and build resilient, healthy communities.”

The scale of the challenge

These numbers reflect the reality facing Uganda’s most vulnerable children and families and the urgency behind everything KSDA does.

of children in multidimensional poverty

of girls 15–19 experiencing pregnancy

access to safe drinking water

access to safe sanitation

Millions of school days lost

Poor access to water, sanitation, and menstrual hygiene drives absenteeism particularly among girls harming learning outcomes and increasing dropout risk.

The cycle continues

Children born into vulnerable households are more likely to experience poverty, poor education, and limited opportunities passing vulnerability from one generation to the next.

Breaking the cycle

Poverty leads to dropout. Dropout increases teenage pregnancy risk. Poor WASH worsens health and dignity. KSDA’s integrated programmes address every stage of this cycle.
